"the outline of the lyrical memories over the sunset"

Roseus (stylized as roseus) is the debut mixtape by Chinese student Xitong Yuan. It was released on August 17, 2019. Rocky was inspired to make the mixtape after eighteen years experiences with the sunset. Roseus has alternative hip-hop aesthetics and nostalgic feeling with real and surreal visional themes. The songs focus on family, interpersonal relationships, and personal reflection. The whole sequence of these songs is based on the timeline from 3pm to 6pm, recorded the memories and inspirational moments into the mixtape. He said, "rather than inspiring others, i got inspired."

Production on the mixtape was handled by Rocky himself, as well as co-producer Woodcock James and features production from Yussef, alongside a variety of producers, including Galvez Guillermo, Andre Arterberry, James Chul Rim, rarebowy, Phora, Quadeca, and Roy Purdy, among others. He noted the work of Mathias as a musical influence for the mixtape. The mixtape also contains features vocal for harmonizing the melodies with the distance.
