Lyric lagu dandelions

This album showcases aspects of my life as a third culture kid, including diversity, figuring out where I'm from, dealing with fake friends, managing anxiety, and change.

Wildflowers:
As a third culture kid, I have grown up surrounded by diversity, which has made me see the beauty in our diversity. This song also highlights that if third culture kids can do this, why can’t the rest of the world?

Roots:
“Where are you from?” is a big question that is difficult for many third culture kids to answer. When I move around, it sometimes leaves me feeling without a home, or rootless, because I haven't experienced living in my home culture country. I wrote this song to show how the world is my home. I wanted to make this personal by highlighting some of the beautiful places I’ve lived in and the people I’ve grown up surrounded by. Although this is personal, it is relatable because many TCKs experience this.

Fake Friends:
As third culture kids, we still experience normal things, such as friendship issues. This song highlights a difficult time in my life where I felt disrespected by my friends. This is something that not only third culture kids experience, but most teenagers at some point in their life.

Stormy Days:
This song is about anxiety, how it feels, and how I’ve learned to deal with it through the metaphor of a storm. Anxiety comes and goes for me, but I’ve learned that it’s in my head. Reminding myself of that makes me realize that I will get through the “storms” that anxiety periodically brings into my life.

Dandelions:
This is the first song I wrote. It highlights the amount of change that third culture kids experience, whether it’s change with friends, family, or within themselves. It’s difficult to experience change, but there are a “few dandelions” that stay in place, such as family or really close friends.
