12. Less talk more rock Jam

The actual jam failed to record. The signal to my gopro was too hot and overdriven. But the recordings were not that bad, so I decided to show you some "building up a song" songwriting workflow in Ableton Live, with Push 2 and Samplr on the ipad. Hope it´s somewhat interesting and inspiring for you to do music, too. Because you can!

Tools:
Fender Telecaster into Kemper Amp + Nord Stage 2, Korg Wavedrum into Ableton Live with Push 2. Tascam US1800 combined to an aggregate device with an iconnectAudio 4plus to integrate the ipad with Samplr. Summed up in a gopro to record.

Since 2003 I did a radio show on our local free radio station in Erfurt (www.radio-frei.de) playing songs and doing interviews with bands. Nothing special.

Now I thought it´s time to try out something new, so I decided to broadcast a 60min. songwriting show, recording me while I jam in my home studio or my rehearsal room.

I know it´s not for everyone and experimental, hard to listen too, but maybe someone get´s inspired and motivated to do music, even if you´re not a musician.

I´ll try to do this every 2nd Saturday 9pm.

Less talk more Rock ist nach über 10 Jahren als klassische Radiosendung - Musik spezial auf Radio F.R.E.I. plötzlich etwas ganz Anderes. Ein Experiment, eine Live JamSession ein Work in Progress Musikerlebnis. Ich bin kein Musiker in dem Sinne, aber an Knöpfen, Tasten und Saiten drehen macht einfach spaß und den will ich teilen. In knapp 60 Minuten entsteht in jeder Ausgabe ein Song oder ein Klangteppich aus Loops, Samples und live eingespielten Instrumenten.

Prinzipiell ist die Idee offen für befreundete Musiker, oder sogar Publikum, je nachdem wie es sich entwickelt. Stellenweise sicher ein befremdlicher Hörgenuss - krumm und atonal, aber beim Scheitern dabei zu sein, kann auch etwas interessantes haben…. denn parallel zur Radiosendung nehme ich den Computerbildschirm und mich mit einer Kamera auf. Less talk more Rock - schräg und schief passt irgendwie zusammen.
