Emerald & Doreen Recordings once again delve into Eastern Europe with Ummagma, a Canadian-Ukrainian dream pop duo, who got their start in Moscow and have made enough waves there for a full-page spread in Rolling Stone Russia. Ummagma combines their love of indie rock, synthpop and electronica to create “dreamgaze” power pop. In these two tracks, stunning hypnotic vocals and lush blissed-out resonance create a sonic launching pad to the galaxy or the universe within while getting your groove on. In "Rotation", this occurs on waves of bombastic synths, and in “Live and Let Die”, epic guitar riffs lace with magnetic drumbeats to stage an astonishing dreampop fest. With a jubilant Stereolab and Curve-type feel, these addictive tracks lovingly embed themselves in your brain. Tripped out, Ummagma brings a soundtrack of reverie for both trailblazers and stargazers. This single is a teaser for several Ummagma releases on Emerald & Doreen forthcoming in early 2014.

Since exploding onto the underground music scene in 2012 with 2 independently released full-length LPs – “Antigravity” and self-titled “Ummagma” – the duo has been blazing a colourful, yet eclectic, path forward. Ummagma are a rare commodity in today's music scene: deliciously diverse, dreamy, and loaded with positivity.

Since then, Ummagma has garnered over 350 unique articles, with rave reviews from The VPME, Echoes and Dust, AltSounds, Sounds Better With Reverb, Rolling Stone, The Sound of Confusion, and WaveMaker Magazine, among others. The 2 albums tied as the #3 Best Album of 2012 in After Pop Magazine, ranked in the top 20 for Rock XS Radio and #21 in Sloucher Zine. Ummagma have caught the attention of Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins/Violet Indiana), who has remixed a track for their forthcoming LP, and also has several victories under their belt, winning the 2013 Alternative Eurovision, hosted by Amazing Radio, and 2 awards at the 2013 Australian Independent Music Video Awards, including Best International Pop Video.
