As fog begins to pass through a war-torn town, we come across a man who struggles to find the perspective that he once held during his youth. After the loss of a loved one occurs in the story, we gain greater insight on the protagonist's desire to discover a boy who has gone missing. We soon learn that the boy is only a figment of the messenger's imagination. A way for him to cope with the loss of his adolescence, and maintain a connection with the experiences of his past. 'The Messenger' has many perspectives, and I hope you will make your own conclusions about how this story unfolds.
'The Messenger' is Composed, Produced, Written, and Mixed by, Stereoshock.
----------
Verse 1:
[ I've seen a kingdom fall this year...
Because greed smells like blood to some men ]
[Dense fog and roaring wind casted over our village,
while the beckoning sound of cries and cannons cut through the heavy air]
[At dawn, I was awoken from what appeared to be
the last time I'd ever dream]
[and the iron-encrusted window from my childhood
would never bear the same view again]
[I was ordered to deliver a letter,
that I knew would foreshadow nothing but unrest for our province]
[but it was too late…]
[With every step,
the last remaining footprints of my innocence, would soon be left in the cold soil]
[You know what they say though….
Don't Shoot...The Messenger]
-------------------------------
Interlude (House Scene):
*Cries From Sister*
[Mom..mom no please. Stay with us, please mom, don't die, not here]
-------------------------------
Verse 2:
[Every time I tell my story,
I often skip over this part]
[Not because I'm embarrassed of what i've become,
but because of what I've lost in the process]
[I walked across the bridge, and closed the gate
which had sheltered me from everything I now knew]
[and in the moonlit backdrop,
I looked up at my window for the very last time]
[I'd like to think the boy who left the castle that day,
is still out their running]
[and I hope he never stops...]
[Because this boy was the kid in all of us
....And now his message is lost]
~The End~
